This beautiful building, built into a hillside, has a blend of construction components. The remodeled Richland Public Library is a handsome addition to the city. The 25,000 SF new construction was built on concrete piles. The exterior of the building is a mixture between existing/salvaged brick, composite metal panel siding, curtain wall glazing, and precast concrete panels. The interior of the structure has wood ceilings, wood panels, custom casework, and stained concrete floors.

This project a one-story, 12,000 square foot Technical Skills Center. The buildings was constructed to meet type II-B construction and group E occupancy per the IBC, 2009 Edition. The site is approximately 3.6 acres located off Barnard Road near the Sunnyside School District Transportation Center on property leased from the Port of Sunnyside. It provides 29 parking spaces and space for future growth of the facility. Site modifications included sidewalks, accessible ramp curb cuts and curb cuts at driveways.

This project included administration offices, building operations, common spaces,and four classroom/labs. It houses three programs - Welding, Nursing and Medical Office Skills.

The facility is a 56,000 square foot upscale food market. One of the unique challenges on this project was the transparent stained and polished concrete floors on the main sales area. The concrete needed to be perfectly flat and no oil or other concrete staining chemicals could be dropped on the concrete surface prior to the staining and sealing.

The floor had to be placed during one of the coldest winters in recent times. These challenges were met head-on by the entire project team and the store was finished beautifully and open for business right on schedule.
